Settlement Kogui: Teykú
The The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta a vast mountain range that rises in the caribbean region of Colombia, the home of 7 indigenous peoples who have maintained their traditions and customs intact over the centuries. These Villages are: Koguis, Arhuacos, Wiwas, Kankuamos, Tagangueros, Chimilas and Wayuu, each with a rich culture and deep connection with the earth and the cosmos.

Itinerary Experience Teykú
Start time: 8:00 am The meeting point is Shop New Calabazo on the sidewalk Calabazo, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Here you will receive through our guide, which will provide you with a brief introduction to the experience, and what you are going to live during the day. Remember to arrive 15 minutes before the agreed time.
The tour begins with a hike through forests and farms, local agricultural production. Along the way, you will be brief pit stops to rest and enjoy the landscape. The road will take you through lush greenery and a deep connection with nature. Remember that you will have a tour on the rise, so take it easy and follow the instructions from your guide.
Envelopes 9:30am we will be arriving at the Restaurant The Rest, where we take a Break and just hours after our lunch.
A few more meters ahead is the entrance to the settlement Kogui, Teykú, and will be received by a member of the community, which presents with your local guide community. This person will guide to know everything about the world of the communities, it will also help us to purify our minds and rid ourselves of negative energies.
Note. Within the community you'll have a water filter so that you reabastezcas and a bathing area is well equipped for eventualities personal.
Already when entering the guides will share their insights on the Cultural House or Casa Maryexplaining essential aspects about the life and community organization.

Terraza para resolver problemas y del Trapiche y la Caña de Azúcar
After a climb by stairs on a stone of the ancient Tayrona passing by areas of farmland and getting closer to the terrace where you resolve conflict and special ceremonies to cure some diseases.
As a visitor, you will learn Standards, use of the poporo, the importance of work the backpack and the important role of the woman.
We will pass between a plantation of coca until you get to the area of extraction of the juice sugar cane in the trapiche, a tool that is traditional used by the community. This is a moment to understand how the sugar cane is an integral part of the life Kogui, both for consumption as well as for their uses in local medicine.
Los visitantes podrán observar todo el proceso de extracción del sisal (hemp rope), a fiber used by the Kogui to the creation of clothing and craft items. The members of the community will show the process of cultivation and processing of this plant, explaining its importance in your daily life.
Note: In this place there are also fruits of their crops that can be tasted, and we started to return to the beginning of the experience going through the cocoa crops and local tubers.
Approaching the lunch hour on the 11:50am we will return to the starting point where a community member who will teach us the development of ornaments and crafts performed by members of the community. Here you will understand the symbolic meaning of these products and their connection with the worldview Kogui.
After finishing the tour of the settlement, we will return to the community restaurant, and later, about 2:00pm we will begin the descent to the village of Calabazo.
About 3.30 pm we would be on the Sidewalk and would complete the experience.
