This is a authentic experience which invites you to discover the world of cacao in its region of origin, just a few minutes from the Tayrona National Natural Park and it is located on a farm of local families, in a natural environment.
During the tour, you'll walk among cocoa crops and you'll learn all about the process, from its planting and harvesting to the artisanal processing of the chocolate.
Accompanied by local guides, you'll learn about the history, culture, and significance of this fruit for the rural communities in the region.
SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES
- The experience begins at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. in the San Rafael Trail – La Casona Area, less than 1.5 km from the entrance to Tayrona National Natural Park. Our [name] will be waiting for you there local guide, who will welcome you, provide some initial information, and offer a few recommendations for the tour.
- From this point on, you'll walk through the community hamlet until you reach the Piedra River basin it will be necessary take off one's shoes, so we recommend bringing Shoes that can get wet and that you feel comfortable.

Cacao Plantation
Then you'll venture into the farming area, where you'll see cacao plants at different stages of growth. You'll learn about their flowering, the first fruits, planting time, and the cocoa varieties on the farm. This stage offers a comprehensive immersion into the life cycle of cacao and its relationship with the local area.
Here, you can try this unique fruit—it has a tropical flavor, so whatever taste and smell you experience is to be expected. Enjoy it to the fullest while you eat it.
In this area, you'll also learn about the region's flora; it's also rich in medicinal plants, which are used in local medicine or the famous Grandma's home remedies.
Handcrafted Cacao Workshop
The last stop is the cocoa workshop, one of the most special moments of the experience. But first, you'll receive a Cocoa Brownie and accompanied by a Iced tea made from cacao.
Next, you'll learn about the artisanal process of Transforming Cocoa Nibs into Chocolate, from the fruit to the final product (fermentation, drying, roasting, and grinding).
Your participation in this part is important because you'll be turning the cacao beans into your own 100% Organic Chocolate Bar.
It's worth noting that you can customize your bar to your liking by adding honey, lemon zest, orange zest, or the leaves of these fruits.
We'll need to chill our chocolate bar for 10 minutes, and in the meantime, we'll prepare a natural cocoa face mask, ideal for skin care, in addition to its properties and benefits.
This process is complete once we've wrapped our chocolate bars, and you can take them with you.
