How Do I Get to Calabazo?
This experience begins in Calabazo, an area located along the Troncal del Caribe highway, approximately 45 minutes from Santa Marta in the direction of Riohacha.
- If you are in Santa Marta, one of the most practical options is to go to the Public Market, Sector of the Bus Station to Palomino.
- Take the bus company Cootransoriente bound for Palomino.
- Ask the driver to let you off at the stop known as Shop New Calabazo, a starting point for the experience.
This route is direct, affordable, and frequently used by travelers visiting Tayrona National Park.

Itinerary of Tour
It is a challenging experience, designed for travelers who want to explore Tayrona from a more comprehensive, active perspective that is deeply connected to the region.
Day 1 | Calabazo, Kogui Territory, and Playa Brava.

The experience begins at Calabazo, where we began our hike along the trails leading to Tayrona Park. Along the way, we will pass through tropical forest landscapes and areas of great natural beauty as we venture into a region of profound cultural and spiritual significance.
Encounter with the Kogui Territory:
During the tour, we'll arrive at Teykú, a settlement inhabited by Kogui families. This part of the experience allows us to engage, respectfully and in accordance with local regulations and permits, with the culture of the Kogui people and their relationship with the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Important: Access to and activities within the indigenous territory are subject to the conditions and authorizations established by the community.
Arrival at Playa Brava
After lunch, we'll continue our hike until we reach Brava Beach, a beach of great natural beauty located in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature.
When we arrive, we'll have time to rest, enjoy the surroundings, and relax by the sea.
At the end of the day, we'll enjoy dinner and spend the night at hammock with mosquito net.

Sunrise at Playa Brava
We'll start the day by enjoying the tranquility of Playa Brava and having breakfast before continuing our journey.
Then we'll begin our journey into the interior of the Tayrona National Natural Park, hiking along nature trails surrounded by tropical forest and landscapes typical of the Colombian Caribbean coast.
Exploring the Beaches of Tayrona Park
During the tour, we'll visit some of the area's most iconic sites, such as:
- Cabo San Juan
- The Pool
- Arenillas
- Other stops along the route, depending on road conditions and the day's operations.
We'll have time to enjoy the scenery, relax, and explore some of Tayrona Park's most iconic natural landscapes.
End of the route
After completing the tour, we will continue on to the area of Cañaveral, where the experience ends. From here, you can continue your journey toward Santa Marta, Palomino, or other destinations in the region.
